Karin Fisher-Potisk

Karin was born in Austria. Her leadership credentials include 20 years at the forefront of British Contemporary Dance as Artistic Director, Performer and Educator of Ricochet Dance Productions. Ricochet is a highly successful dance company winning Arts Council funding, and gaining critical renown over the period of its existence, including the Time Out Award for ‘Consistently Inventive Creativity’ in 1997. Karin has commissioned over thirty new works for Ricochet and led many national and international educational residencies for the company.

Karin also works as a certified Body-Mind Centering® Practitioner (1999), Infant Developmental Movement Educator (2007) as well as a Yoga Teacher.

In 2008 Karin completed an MA (Dist.) in Movement Studies at the Central School of Speech and Drama. She has since worked with professionals, actors, dancers and choreographers in one to one coaching and custom tailored workshops, as well as lecturing at Italia Conti, Arts Educational, and Central School of Speech and Drama, where she devised a course in Experiential Anatomy.

Karin’s strength lies in her level of experience in movement analysis and re-education through a somatic approach to the whole individual. She is fluent in German and English and holds a Teaching Diploma in Clarinet (1985) from the Mozarteum Academy for Music and Performing Arts, Salzburg, and a Diploma in Contemporary Dance and Choreography (1989) from The London Contemporary Dance School.
